S J Forbes – Super Saturday Midnight Opening

Our Super Saturday Midnight Salon Opening in Egham & Windsor

‘Super Saturday’ – the day many of the country’s businesses reopened to the public – was super for so many people around the UK, including for us at SJ Forbes. After several months of lockdown, we were finally given the green light by the government to open up and give our wonderful clients an overdue haircut and colour touch up, something that many people struggled to attempt themselves via the numerous ‘how to’ videos that started trending at the beginning of lockdown.

Whilst the foodies were going ecstatic about venturing out to restaurants and bars, our phone lines and emails were busier than ever with our loyal clients all wanting to book in. We wanted to cater for as many clients as possible, which is what led us to doing something that we have never done before – opening our doors to our amazing clientele from 12:01am on 4th July.

We were fortunate that so many of our clients were supportive during the lockdown period and fought off the urge to give themselves a chop at home, hence, as a token of our appreciation we felt it was our turn to provide bespoke customer service and help our clients feel great again! With a tremendous team of hard-working and passionate employees, we opened at midnight with a team of 4 people, straight through till 9pm with two rotating teams!

Would we consider doing this again? Well, we take pride in knowing that we were one of the only salons in Egham and Windsor to jump at this opportunity of opening up at midnight, and as a result, have plenty of new ideas for something similar going forward, watch this space! We strongly believe in the mantra of bending backwards for our clients, and have always remained flexible to their needs; however, this moment definitely brought a whole new meaning to our mantra.

We are also aware that there may still be clients who feel reluctant to step back into some semblance of normality for the fear of it not being safe. To those, we would like to reassure you that we have taken every process into consideration and implemented all the necessary measures required for you to feel secure in our salons. The measures we have taken include calling every client 24 hours prior to the appointment to ask the requisite health screening questions, checking the temperature of everyone at the entrance of our salon along with an antibacterial station. Every member of staff is in full PPE, disposable towels and gowns for our clients, protective screens around each section including basins for hair washing, no personal touch points such as magazines and coffee, no waiting area due to a strict booking system and online or over the phone payments system.

We care about our clients safety and wellbeing and empathise with all that they have been through, which is why we will embrace some of these measures for a longer duration than necessary, and as a gesture of goodwill we have also conducted several FaceTime consultations. Lockdown has also given us much to think about and reflect upon, and we hope to continue thriving in our passion for hair and strive to be the best!

We’d love to see you and you can get in touch to book your appointments at either of our salons, in Windsor, or Egham.
