There will be blood, sweat and tears. . . .
Blood. Okay perhaps a bit dramatic, as an experienced stylist it probably doesn’t happenvery often, you know what it’s like, you might be chatting a bit too much and catch yourfingers, we know how sharp your creative tools are! (We also take care of them being serviced too!)

Sweat. Working in a warm salon and putting in the hard work can build up a sweat sometimes, but it's worth it as in both SJ Forbes salons there is glorious air conditioning.

Tears. (Yours not theirs!) We know that being a hairdresser you are often your client’s
confidant/counsellor, you might be supporting someone about to start treatment and
wanting to ‘go short’, or well up with tears of pride for the 9-year-old little girl donating her
ponytail to the Princesses Trust (we sob too, you aren’t alone!) . . .

Picture this; you would be joining a team of 11 strong stylists, apprentices, and front ofhouse who have been with SJ Forbes for an average of over 5 years. Your salon is based astone’s throw from Egham station, we opened our doors 8 years ago and work with some of the industry's best products including GOLDWELL, Kerastase, and KMS.

We don’t have to go into the ins and outs of what you will be doing on a day-to-day basis, you are an accomplished stylist who knows the ropes, but we are guessing you don’t get to be as creative with colour or cuts in your current salon. You are probably itching to join an ambitious innovative salon brand led by two directors you are fiercely passionate about continuous development and keeping on top of trends and techniques. . . we kid you not, the ongoing training in-house and externally is unreal!

In a Nutshell.

You would be looking at target earnings, uncapped commission on services AND product sales. We are very flexible with working hours and will try to accommodate everyone's schedules.

The interview process would be a telephone interview with one of our Salon Directors
(probably Hayley, she loves a chat), a face to face and trade test. . . you get to check out the
environment, meet the team and see what we are about too.

Check out our Instagram feed for what life is like here at SJ Forbes. You can see what our day-to-day looks like and the extra activities we get up to like rolling around in the mud on a team day. . . we do spa trips too if you prefer a different type of mud!

As with any job, there are some things you need to have from the off, to get started:

A stylist who is creative with cutting and colouring, we work with Goldwell for
colour and are looking for someone who is keen to learn new techniques and develop their
skills

Qualification needed NVQ level 2 in hairdressing.

Excellent communication skills – a bit of a no-brainer but being able to listen to a client's need and decipher what they want when they give you that Pinterest image that you know isn’t going to suit their face shape!. . .we know you know.

Customer centric attitude – without clients we wouldn’t exist, we have a lot of rebooks and
referrals, keeping client needs and making their salon experience unforgettable (in a good
way!)

A passion for hair – this does sound cheesy, but we mean it, a lot of our clients want more than a layered bob or beach waves. Creativity is key.

If this sounds like a bit of you, send your CV across or, even better, come and see us and drop it off at the salon. If you email it, we will be in touch within 14 working days.
