SJ Forbes Helps Local Fundraiser Make The Cut For Little Princes Trust And Cops Charity

SJ Forbes Local Charity News

Hair by SJ Forbes, the award-winning, independent hairdressing salon in Egham, Surrey, has recently helped a young man in his quest to raise money for two different charities.

Matt Scott, aged 18, wanted to help the Little Princess Trust – a charity that provides real-hair wigs to girls and boys who have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment – and the Care of Police Survivors (COPS) charity – dedicated to helping the families of police officers who have lost their lives on duty, rebuild their lives. As a result, Matt pledged to have 10 inches of his hair cut off to help raise much-needed funds.

After six years of growing his hair, aspiring police officer, Matt, asked SJ Forbes if they could help, and the charitable team were delighted to give Matt the chop.

Matt, who is a second year college student at Strode’s College said: “COPS was set up to support those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty, and help them rebuild their lives. This charity is particularly relevant after the untimely death of PC Keith Palmer in the line of duty in Westminster London.

“Such heartbreaking occurrences are understandably difficult on family members of the deceased, and the support COPS can give to these people is vital, as they help when people need it most.

“As I had 10 inches of my hair chopped off, I also wanted to donate my hair to a separate charity to provide wigs to those less fortunate than myself.”

Hayley Gibson-Forbes, Co-Founder, SJ Forbes, added: “We were so touched by Matt’s idea, and wanted to offer our services to help with his fundraising plans. It is wonderful to meet youngsters like Matt who are kind, driven, and selfless, and who want to help those who are faced with challenging times.”
