International Women's Day at SJ Forbes

International women’s day celebrates the women’s rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights and violence and abuse against women. This year's IWD campaign theme is to embrace equity, promoting a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination where women are valued and achievements celebrated. 

In light of this, we have decided to feature some of our incredibly and talented members of the team and celebrate their amazing achievements. We have asked them a couple of questions for you to get to know them better, as well as asking for insight into a few tips and tricks from hair experts and what inspiring women they look up to and inspire them. 

Stef

1. Bio about self - I’m Stef, I’ve been hairdressing for 15 years. I love chocolate and everything sweet.
2. What is your go-to hair product of all time - My go-to product is KMS quick dry spray, I could not live without it.
3. What is your hair trend prediction of 2023 - My hair trend prediction for 2023 is the short Bob. Bring it back!
4. What is your ultimate top-secret hair tip? - My top secret hair tip is to use Oribe dry shampoo when your hair is freshly styled to help the style last longer and prevent oily hair.
5. Which powerful women do you admire the most? - I admire J.K Rowling because she started off with nothing and became a millionaire, ‘Anything is possible if you’ve got enough nerve’
6. What are you most proud of doing? - I am most proud of becoming the hairdresser that I am today.

Daisy

1. Bio about self  - Hi, I’m Daisy & I’m Front Of House at SJ Forbes in Egham.
2. What is your go-to hair product of all time? - Revival creme - Fav! Super soft, moisturising and most importantly HEAT protection! 
3. What is your hair trend prediction of 2023 - Super layered & Messy as you can get.
4. Which powerful women do you admire the most? - The powerful woman I admire is my Mum First followed by the Queen. 
5. What are you most proud of doing? - Being a good person! 

Lucia

1. Bio about self - I’m Lucia, I’ve been working at SJ Forbes for 4 years! I am a qualified level 2 & 3 in hairdressing and now do FOH, I am also trained in extensions. I’m a mum of 2, 14 months apart
2. What is your go-to hair product of all time? - Quick blowdry, it’s good for all hair types, it’s lightweight and speeds up your drying time by 50%
3. What is your hair trend prediction of 2023 - Fringes (Full, sweepy, wispy)
4. Which powerful women do you admire the most? - I admire my mum the most.
5. What are you most proud of doing? - Becoming a Mum myself. 

Alice 

1. Bio about self - My name is Alice. I have been at S J Forbes for 4 years now. I love doing colour and extensions they are my favourite things to do. I love nothing more than making a client feel confident when leaving the salon and proud of their hair! When I’m not working I love nothing more than being with Friends and family, eating good food and having a cheeky gin or two!
2. What is your go-to hair product of all time? - My go-to product is anti-humidity. It’s the best product ever! Would be lost without it.
3. What is your hair trend prediction of 2023 - My hair prediction for 2023 is to see more pastel colours back again.
4. What is your ultimate top-secret hair tip? - My top hair tip is to apply dry shampoo before bed, rather than in the morning. Total game changer!
5. Which powerful women do you admire the most? - The powerful woman I admire the most is my mum. She is an amazing role model and she is such a hard worker. Always puts people first without thinking of herself!
6. What are you most proud of doing? - My biggest achievement is having 2 colour specialist degrees before 30.

1. Bio about self - I’m Sandra, I’m hard-working and like to try new techniques, I love a good cup of coffee and chocolate.

3. What is your hair trend prediction of 2023 - More crazy colours!
4. What is your ultimate top-secret hair tip? - Backcombing is the best way to get volume. 
5. Which powerful women do you admire the most? - A powerful woman I admire is a Lithuanian stylist called Margarita. 
6. What are you most proud of doing? - I am proud of making my clients happy and feel good about themselves
